An impromptu lunch today turned into an exciting discovery!
Sometimes I get so consumed with work that even the thought of deciding on what to have for lunch is just too much. For those times, I have a few solid go-to's that get me through in most every city I happen to be in. Today's choice was California Pizza Kitchen's BBQ Chicken Salad and noticing their new summer menu, I decided to treat myself to a little mid-day dessert as well.
Enter CPK's Summer Berries with Vanilla Bean Sabayon and Candied Lemon Zest. I always look forward to summer fruit and especially berries; top them with a creamy vanilla bean sauce and I'm sold...sign me up every single time! Topping this combo with the slightly sweet candied lemon zest was genius and the result is beyond brilliant! This is literally one of the best desserts I've had so far this summer...and it's leaps and bounds better than similar desserts I've tasted at pricier restaurants. I could have eaten like 5 servings in one sitting!!
Forget lunch or dinner...just dine on dessert when it's this good!
