It’s amazing how a few simple things can be combined and produce the flavor of something that would normally take lots more time and many more ingredients to make! I cannot believe I had not heard of this before…the results are ingenious!
It goes a little something like this:
One day, my friends Mom Jana put 3 bowls on the table…one with strawberries, one with brown sugar, and one with sour cream (what?!)...I was confused.
I wasn’t buying into the whole idea that I was supposed to eat these 3 things together…sour cream and strawberries without any baking going on didn’t sound very appealing to me…but she insisted the end result would be worth it (not to mention everyone kept devouring them so of course I HAD to figure out what the big deal was)…15+ strawberries later I was HOOKED!
I felt warped!…like my mouth was playing tricks on me and telling my brain it was really eating strawberry cheesecake or white chocolate dipped strawberries w/ graham cracker…it was seriously a Willy Wonka moment (you know…like the scene where Violet chews the gum that tastes like a full course meal.)
Makes you kinda curious huh?! Here's how (so easy!):
I also love how no matter how much sour cream you put on a strawberry, it never seems to make it into the brown sugar bowl…no mess…love it!
*This is def an interactive kind of treat…as in, keep each part separate until you are ready to eat them. Otherwise, the brown sugar starts to melt into the sour cream and it takes away from the texture…just trust me!
Try it and tell me what you think! I’m dying to read everyone’s reactions. Plus, if you know any cool combinations you think I should try…send them over! If I love it, I’ll post it!
